Important information to shop Tax Free in Austria
Please make sure that all mandatory fields are filled in correctly when you request your Tax Free Form in store. In the case of missing or incorrect information, the form will be rejected by Customs.
If you are a Global Blue member:
In most stores, you can scan your digital barcode at check-out. Your personal data will be automatically filled in on the Tax Free Form.

Documents to be submitted to process the customs validation:
- Full name and passport

- Tax Free Form and receipts
Leaving the EU via Vienna International Airport?
All other exit points in Austria:
Exiting via Airport:
Go to Customs before checking in your luggage. (no differentiation between hand and check-in luggage).
Exiting by Train:
A customs officer will board the train at the border to validation your export.
Exiting by car:
Exit via a road border where customs are present. Find a customs office here

Important information to get your refund with Form issued in Austria
Before leaving the EU from Austria, get your refund:
In cash:
Visit one of your many Refund Points Downtown or at your exit point. Find a Refund Point here.
Providing your preferred payment details:
Don’t waste time queuing at the Refund Office.
Add your payment details directly online. Send us the validated Tax Free Form and the original receipt using the Global Blue mailbox located at your exit point.
